I've always loved tea. Growing up in an English family means drinking tea is part of tradition. Part of that tradition is about sitting around and connecting with people you care about. Many a heartfelt talk has taken place while sipping a fresh cup of tea and munching on cookies or scones. It's how I still connect with my mom and my gran gran (what I call my Grandmother), and now it's what I do with my husband. One day I'd like to share this tradition with my own daughter.
However, for all the wonderful memories I have of tea, it alarmed me to discover that many tea leaves are produced with child labor and slavery (see https://www.dol.gov/ilab/reports/child-labor/list-of-goods/). I enjoyed a variety of tea mixes, but I was concerned about supporting unethical food practices. This dampened the joy of drinking tea for me. So, I started doing more research and decided I would create my own tea mixes using only products that are fair trade certified.
As such I support ethical food practices and reject those that aren't. At London Fog Tea Company we sell organic loose leaf tea that's tasty and fair trade. Drinking our tea means you can sit back and enjoy your cup of tea worry free.
